| Well, whoever wants to volunteer... I want to make it so that my TM's have a town grant of money. (Also good for semi-grant locking.)
So that they can deal with trade which has the other town sending a trader to us. Also, they can pick up fruits and vegetables at 10,25 and below. Since I can't watch it all the time.
But, it just seems a generally good idea to pick all of them below 10,50 isn't it?
And from what I know of the treasury, this probably won't be implemented till Exeter starts prospering.

| I watch the market daily and its only been recently that I have actually had the funds to purchase other than what I need. Last night I picked up two fruit for £10 and I was hoping the TH would want it. I'm quite happy to set aside £100 of my own money to purchase items like that, that the TH can buy off me when it can afford or when I catch up with the mayor. | |

| Hmm it can also be done that way. Little TH Agents... And arrange for the TH to buy the goods. That can be done. Good idea. | |

| One of the things we used to do in Plymouth was have Town Agents similar to County Agents. These people would have town grants to buy cheap goods and resell for the town's profit.
Has to be people you implicitly trust, though. It could easily be abused,

| Could you do that these days?
That must almost be considered profiteering under the current laws of Cornwall as I don't think Town and town Agents are excluded from the law are they?

| Who would be the one that presses charges? Can some random citizen press charges against the Town? Will the Council press charges?
Well, if someone really doesn't like me and/or the TA...

| It has been done Zangi .. where a citizen has taken the mayor to court for breaking county regulations
I'm not saying is will but it is entirely possible it could be done

| There is nothing illegal about the town buying and selling and making a minor profit on it. That is what the town has to do to function. It is the way it makes the money it needs to do other things.
Private citizens could still do it using town grants, but NOT for themselves. This is why I say you would have to be extremely careful who you trust with this. Also, the trick is that they don't sell it more than a few pence higher, makes the town a ton of money without gouging its citizens.
Ka did that when he was Mayor. I didn't, but not because it is illegal. I am just on a lot, and saw no need. I just bought and sold as a town.

| They pretty much have to be. IUt is the only real source of income for the TH unless you want to use taxes. I think taxes are WRONG | |

| There may come a time when taxes will have to be implemented -- I'm thinking more along the lines of when war comes. What I was saying Methos is that the current law does not exclude the council from that level of profiteering. Maybe its an oversight that needs to be addressed? | |

| Seer, if you ever want a different party to run with, I can make a spot for you in EC. I don't know if FPC is running a list this time, but ew are better than joining CUE, I guarantee you. | |

| Thanks Methos.
I'm not sure whether FPC will be around either. I have to really consider whether I want to step into Politics again. I have to think about it. I have to consider whether I can step back and go with the slow bureaucratic flow. *grins*
I want to support Exeter. I want to support Cornwall, I need to figure how the best way for me to do that is.

| Zangi, if you want to run for mayor again just say so. if you dont then I think I will toss my hats into the local politics arena.
Methos at this point in time I have decided to just step back from County politics a short way. I want to see what happens with FPC.
